The Kon-Tiki Museum is located in maritime surroundings on Bygdøynes. It is a beautiful area with plenty of places you can go swimming. You can get here using the scheduled ferry service during the busy season, or by taking bus no. 30 all year round. The bus stops right outside the museum. If you are going to arrive by private car, please note the following:
NB! There are three car parks in the immediate area. One is private and two are public. The public car parks are much cheaper than the private one!
Just before you reach the Kon-Tiki Museum you will see a sign for parking on your right-hand side. These are really two car parks, and they differ quite a lot in price. When you turn into these we recommend you choose the one on the right. (Photo to the right)
The car park on the left is privately owned and, as you can see from the photo, costs NOK 30 per hour from 00:00-24:00 every day. The car park on the right costs just NOK 8 per hour.
If you want to park even closer to the Kon-Tiki Museum, there is a large public car park right next to the museum, which costs NOK 8 per hour from 08:00-20:00. We look forward to seeing you!
