Researchers
Dr. Philos. Arne Skjølsvold and Thor Heyerdahl first met each other in Ecuador on their way to the Galapagos Islands on an archaeological expedition. They became lifelong friends and collaborators and when Skjølsvold retired as head of the Antiquities Department at the University of Oslo, he was entrusted with building up a research department at The Kon-Tiki Museum.

Over the years several researchers have worked at The Kon-Tiki Museum or been associated with the works of the institute.
