The exhibition tells the story of how the famous Russian doctor Gavril Abramovich Ilizarov's sensational orthopaedic method in medical science arrived in the West and won great acclaim.

Russian doctor Yury Senkevitch met the Italian explorer Carlo Mauri on Thor Heyerdahl's reed boat voyages (Ra 1969 and 70) and (Tigris 1977/78). And it was here the THE ILIZAROV METHOD's adventure in the West started.
