The story of Thor Heyerdahl’s Kon-Tiki expedition and the consequences of the Kon-Tiki documentary winning an Oscar in 1951 are a real adventure. Its a stoty about a man willing to risk his life for his believe. Also a new feature film about the Kon-Tiki expedition has been screened in Norway during Autumn 2012 and is in 2013 to be screened in a number of countries in the world. The movie is nominated for Oscar for best foreign film in 2013.
The Kon-Tiki Museum has since November 2010 screened the original Kon-Tiki Movie with a presentation telling the story about Thor Heyerdahl`s most important expeditions and the value of the Oscar he gained from the Kon-Tiki Movie. Photos and stories from the new Kon-Tiki movie are included. An exhibition about the same theme can also be included.
