The primary task of the Kon-Tiki Museum is to curate the collections, undertake or support research and inform the public of Thor Heyerdahl’s life, work and ideas,
with focus on running a museum. Within these parameters, the main focus of the museum is to curate the vessels Kon-Tiki and Ra II, and other objects from his
expeditions and display them to the public. Additionally, the museum should also undertake research and projects which is connected to Thor Heyerdahl’s lifelong work and research areas of interest. These pages are under construction
