On May 15th, it will be 75 years since the Kon-Tiki Museum first opened its doors. This is celebrated with an anniversary exhibition in the museum's auditorium. Here you can see the museum's history through texts, unique images, a model of the original museum building and a film with historical clips.
The exhibition will be on display from May 16th to December 31st, 2025.

During the same period, a mini-exhibition will be on display in the Easter Island room – right next to the Kon-Tiki raft. It tells the exciting story of the repatriation project that is currently underway, where the museum's artifacts and human remains will be returned to their rightful home on Easter Island/Rapa Nui.
